The First World War is this year's theme at the Golden Days festival. Go back in the footsteps of The First World War with exhibitions, concerts and events all through the city.
Golden Days is a large historical festival, which takes place in Copenhagen every year and has been celebrated since 1994.
Every festival theme covers a period in Copenhagen's history and this year the spotlight is on the First World War and its shock wave of changes.
The Festival looks at topics such as Dadaism, sexuality, shell shock, war gardens, trenches and expressionism, also focusing on the fact that the war made Denmark part of modern Europe.
Plenty of activities
More than 70 cultural institutions join in the preparations and the carrying through of the festival, which offers concerts, exhibitions, city walks, theatre perfomances and a number of special outdoor activities.
